#5 Album of 2009: Dylan Leeds

Another one from the Sidedown Audio catalog. I released only two albums this year, and luckily they are both incredible. I'd been looking forward to having Dylan Leeds on my label since hearing his 2007 RPM Challenge effort, and my anticipation was well justified.

"Smooth Sailing" by Dylan Leeds

#5

Bit By Bit
Dylan Leeds

Dylan excels at high quality production, and Bit By Bit shows off his love of many different electronic styles and genres. This has been a joy to listen to all year, and I hope that I can get his work into many more ears in 2010.

There's really nothing to dislike about this album. The track order is well put together, and the execution of each track is fantastic. The only tragedy is that Dylan is more of a musical hobbyist than a serious musician, which means that his output is less than what I'd like it to be. That's right, I'm being selfish; I just want to hear more of his work.

Luckily, I know that something he's been working on over 2009 is in the works to make it to the public. I hope that happens mid 2010, but this hope is based only on my own wishes, not the reality of the project. I can say no more, really.

Anyhow, if you haven't, you really really really should purchase this album and begin preaching the Gospel of Leeds.
