#3 Album of 2009: Royksopp

I talked about this album earlier this year, so I don't need to give you the whole rundown again. The more I've listened to Junior, which is a ton, the more I like it. This is an album that won't quit.

"Vision One" by Royksopp

#3

Junior
Royksopp

As I mentioned back in April, a huge huge draw for me on this album, aside from being a Royksopp fan in general, was the inclusion of Anneli Drecker. She's got an unmistakable voice and melodic style, and she brings so much to all of the songs she's on (including the one above).

"Vision One" is definitely my favorite track of the album... I don't know what that ridiculously crunchy synth is, but I want one, big time. I can't help but turn this one up to full volume.

Unlike Air, Royksopp has yet to put out an album that displeases me. Junior is maybe a track or two short for my liking, and the instrumentals aren't the most inspired, but the rest of the album makes up for these very miniscule shortcomings.

I love this album. It's #3 on my list. I love Anneli's songs best (of which there are three), but the whole thing is miles better than almost everything else out there.

I think you're beginning to compel me to get the rest of the album. How does the rest compare, specifically, to the Drecker tracks?
