Escapee, by Jeff LaSala

...follows the adventures of an android, whose conception is blatantly but only loosely inspired by Rush’s song “The Body Electric.”

The goals of this episodic fiction are:

(1) To get writing on a consistent basis, even if the wordcount is relatively small. My dayjob isn’t an authorship, but I’m determined to make writing at least a part-time job. Writing constantly is at the top of every published author’s advice-for-future-authors list.

(2) To tell what I hope will be an amusing story. I typically write fantasy, so I thought it would be good for me to dabble in a little sci-fi. It’s not very technical, though.

(3) To give myself a small challenge. Each week the text will incorporate three words from Dictionary.com’s Word of the Day series from the previous week—or thereabouts. Incorporating words of someone else’s choosing into the context of the story is a fun challenge.

Note: Escapee is presently on a months-spanning hiatus.
